Fireworks, Vows & Puppy Love

22nd February | Dysart, QLD

ree

I barely slept the night before and was up super early the morning of. I couldn't be too sure I had remembered to charge everything 😬 I was triple-checking my gear, pacing back and forward, and running through everything in my head

But as soon as I got there, and I started shooting, everything just clicked! The nerves melted into excitement, and before I knew it, I was having the absolute best time! Capturing the laughter, the tiny details, the real emotion. It wasn’t just work, it was something really special!

+ a day to remember

Braydon and Biannca got married at the local golf course in Dysart, Queensland, and had their photos taken at a friend's property nearby. The whole day carried such a fun, energetic vibe, and that moody-boho theme? Perfection!

I couldn't get over the effort Biannca put into all the personal touches, from the styling details to their dogs walking down the aisle with them (yes, actual doggy ring bearers, the cutest thing ever!!)

Biannca looked absolutely stunning in her white lace gown and... wait for it... she was seven months pregnant!! I know, right? You'd hardly tell! She stayed on her feet the entire time, absolutely glowing. Meanwhile, my back was killing me, and I was ready for a nap haha 😂

Both Braydon and Biannca were so calm the entire day, just radiating joy. Their personal vows were so tender and beautifully them. And after stressing about the weather all week, the day turned out to be perfect! Clear skies, golden light… I couldn’t have asked for better (even if I did overthink it the entire time)

+ the dream team

Besides the couple's msgic, I had the joy of working alongside some incredible vendors:

🎥 Sunbuzz Media – Stacie and Simone were the dream team! I learnt so much from them

💒 Kym Kay Celebrates – the calm, kind energy every couple hopes for in a celebrant

💇‍♀️ Tammy’s Mobile Hair & 💄 Jess from Blush Artistry – you both nailed it! Especially with such a big bridal party!

Speaking of... there were seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen! Yep, fourteen people, not counting the couple. It was definitely a “go big” kind of vibe, and as someone photographing her first wedding, it was a little overwhelming at first, not gonna lie! But everyone was so friendly and fun, it made everything feel easy

+ the party

The reception? An all-out celebration! Pizza for dinner (genius), a glow-stick dance floor, the shoe game (of course), and fireworks to finish the night, actual fireworks! It was unreal!!

+ what I learnt

Every shoot teaches me something new, and this day gave me a whole list for my "should have known but didn't, now I do" file 😂

  1. Bring more memory cards next time (two months in Europe on four cards tricked me into a false sense of security)

  2. Even the comfiest shoes can betray you! (RIP my poor big toe)

  3. I stayed calmer than I ever expected; that one was a pleasant surprise!

  4. Flash photography... one day, I'll master it (today is not that day)

  5. And most importantly, my heart lies in the real moments. The raw emotion, the quiet in-betweens

+ the heart of it

This wedding showed me exactly where I want to be. Capturing intimate weddings and elopements that feel personal, meaningful and full of connection

Braydon and Biannca, thank you for trusting me with your story. I know I can be my own worst critic, but I loved every single photo from that day. Every laugh, every tear, every spark. It meant the world to be there with you

And now, as I look ahead to my next big adventure, an elopement retreat in Scotland! (yes, I’m absolutely screaming internally), I can't help but feel like this day was just the beginning. If this is where it all starts, I can't wait to see what comes next...

“The beginning of something beautiful... not just for them, but for me too”
